Every day is the best day to start anything new

A surprisingly crisp and healthy tea set that I was having …

I have been keeping a journal handy with me wherever I go since I was 21. Pretty much on the same date after I became a born-again Christian in Berkeley, California, on March 7, 1993, I began to write. Or, I began wanting to write.

Thus, I have had records of what exactly was the stuff that I was doing on a specific date in history, whenever I have documented the day’s events, feelings, thoughts, mishaps.

It’s quite lovely to read those journal entries from time to time, as I would reread what had happened days, weeks, or months ago before starting a new entry. Keeping a journal gives me a sense of who I am. I am real. I have emotional ups and downs. I have experienced successes and failures. I have been rejected and accepted. I have got into romances, jobs, and educational programs, and then moved on from those same romances, jobs, and programs to pursue new ones.

But it is time for me to settle down. To seek to stay put and not to move on. And start to write something for real.
