➤ WhatIsAGoodMother_Project (WIAGM) Channel (2025-present) — PurposeShare review works on relevant and important academic literature (e.g., journal articles) on parenting by past and current developmental theorists and researchers; discuss and commentates on meanings (implications) and applications. DeliverablesYouTube videos of Season 1 have been published in August, 2025-March, 2026, based on 3 articles, they are Darling & Steinberg (1993) on Parenting Style as Context (Parenting Style); Garcia & Serra (2019) on Parenting Styles’ Short/Long-Term Effects (Parenting Style Effects); and Rohner’s (2021) Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection Theory’s Personality Subtheory (Problem of Parental Coldness), Coping Subtheory, and the Sociocultural Systems and Model Subtheory (Rejection Copers-Systems). ➤ WhatIsAGoodMother_Project (WIAGM) Survey (2024-present) — PurposeInvestigate the definition of “What Is A Good Mother” from adult children’s perceptive through collecting and analyzing respondents’ opinion and ratings on perceived mother’s behavior and specific adult child outcomes; examine cultural, gender, age, and socioeconomic differences in its definition and effect on outcomes; review parenting literature to examine existing models and theories and to identify research gap. MethodAdminister an online questionnaire that collects both qualitative data (short essay) and quantitative data (self-report ratings). DataObtain world-wide data online. ApplicationInform general public of what “good mothers” would do toward providing important self-help information and support for mothers who want to learn if they are doing a good job and how to bring the healthiest outcomes in their child.
